STEVE BOWMAN REPRESENTING
SAN FRANCISCO DRUM COMPANY

Steve Bowman was the original drummer for Counting Crows and has played with many Bay Area bands including Third Eye Blind, Tremolo, John Wesley Harding, and Penelope Houston. Steve has been touring with San Francisco's Luce (Luceband.com) and doing sessions and private instruction when home. After playing SF Drum Company’s instruments at A Drummer’s Tradition in San Rafael, Bowman found that the sound, workmanship, and styling of the Civic Center model drums compliment both his live and studio work. His new kit consists of classic traditional sizes: 6.5"x14" snare, 8"x12" tom, 16"x16" floor tom and 14"x26" bass drum finished in green sparkle wrap with classic wood hoops.

“The first thing that caught me was the classic American styling.”, said Bowman. “And then I played them at A Drummer’s Tradition in San Rafael and they just sounded beautiful - the bass drum has the full bottom end that I’ve been looking for. They have the look and sound of yesteryear with the precision of modern craftsmanship. It allows me to nail exactly what I want."

“We are really excited to have an artist of Steve’s caliber on board. It's great to work with musicians who understand the relationship that exists between technique and the tone of the instrument.”, said Garry Williams of San Francisco Drum Company. “He brings a new dimension of technical capabilities and our products facilitate his many musical styles.”

Bowman’s latest and most notable tracks can be heard the recent CD releases of Luce "Never Ending" and Counting Crows "Films About Ghosts: The Best Of...".
